The word “diet” indicates a temporary change to what you eat. Even when you’re successful in losing weight short term, it doesn’t last.

Unless the change in what you eat is permanent, then your weight loss will also be temporary.

Whether you over eat due to habit or for emotional reasons, hypnotherapy will help you to achieve your weight loss goals. Hypnosis will help you change the way you think about food, and develop a new healthier attitude. Hypnotherapy will help you to eat only when you are hungry, to stop when you’re full, and eat more healthily.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy chocolate or cake or a huge fry up ever again. But you can enjoy things in moderation! Food is an important part of celebration and of life. It really is OK to overdo it from time to time! It’s only a problem when your eating habits interfere with your physical or mental well being.

Everyone’s eating patterns are different

Perhaps you overeat when you are bored, stressed, or worried. Or maybe you were taught that you had to clear your plate and eat everything, even if you’re full. Or perhaps you use food as a reward, or are sometimes tempted into binge eating. Maybe you eat too quickly, or prefer the “wrong” foods, – with little nutritional value but high in calories and fat. Or perhaps you’ve given up smoking and have gained weight.

Stop the vicious circle of overeating

Comfort eating is the wrong phrase really. It doesn’t make you feel better! It’s a vicious circle of feeling bad, over eating to “compensate” for this, and then feeling bad because you’ve eaten too much! You’re then back where you started from. No amount of food will make you feel full when it is your mind which needs satisfying.

Group Sessions

If two or more people would like to attend sessions together this is possible provided that their goals are similar. There are common factors for most people who overeat.

These are usually habit, lack of will-power, snacking, or eating large portions.

Sessions are charged at the hourly rate plus £15 per additional person

Your Own Individual Weight Loss Strategy

It is important for you to understand the reasons for your own eating habits. First we’ll establish why, when and how you tend to overeat. Then we’ll work with you by making appropriate suggestions to avoid this. We’ll help your help weight loss by replacing unhealthy eating habits with healthier ones which will benefit you both physically and mentally.

If you’ve got a specific deadline for your weight loss, hypnotherapy will help you visualise yourself at this future date, having successfully lost the weight, that you wish to lose. Hypnosis will help you deal with whatever’s stopping you from achieving your weight loss goals.

Motivation and Exercise

Hypnosis can also be used to encourage you to exercise. Whilst it is always helpful in any weight loss regime if you CAN exercise, this is not essential. You’ll no longer be over eating, and so you don’t need to worry unduly if exercise does not form part of your routine.

When to speak to your doctor before weight loss hypnosis

Hypnotherapy for weight loss may not be right for you if you suffer from any of the following conditions. You should check with your doctor first that they agree that that you may use hypnotherapy in addition to your usual medical treatment:

  • Insulin dependent diabetes (Type I diabetes)

  • Recent surgery

  • Alcohol abuse

  • Hypothyroidism

  • Eating Disorders
